| About Jardins de Mimosa™ |
The Jardins de Mimosa™ story started in the summer of 2006. Like many people I, was looking for more natural alternatives to the products available in the supermarkets & I was finding it difficult. Although there are numerous so called 'Natural' products available, finding one that not only worked for me but that was also in my budget seemed impossible, so I decided to look into creating the products I wanted for myself. Initially I started off by making Glycerin based soap bars for myself and my family, this soon opened up a world of possibilities as a friend of the family asked me if I would be willing to try selling my bars of soap in her Consignment store as they also had a local craft corner. Although I was not sure I was ready to take the step to start selling items commercially I figured that it wouldn't be a bad thing if I put up a small display of my soaps, figuring that the worst thing that could happen is they wouldn't sell. Quite quickly the store started receiving questions about when other products such as Shampoo, Conditioner, Liquid Soap etc... would be available. As I had thought of this as simply an experiment to see if my items would even sell at all, I was completely unprepared for these questions. In fact I hadn't even thought that far ahead yet but as the requests kept coming in I was soon experimenting with different ways of making those very products, trying to find the one that used the most natural ingredients but also provided the customer with a product they were going to love. There were quite a few bumps along the way as my knowledge of what ingredients to put in and how they reacted with each other grew, this was the quickest learning curve I had ever had to tackle and I was eager to get my items available to the public. When I think back the first days, especially about those failed batches of Body Wash, Shampoo etc... it is still hard to imagine that things have moved so fast. Here we are with our first website!. We know have the ability to put together almost everything ourselves and although it does lead to some fairly long hours, it is a lot of fun. We truly hope you enjoy using each and every one of our products as much as we enjoy creating them for you!
