Important Information: Lavender originating in the Mediterranean basin is a hardy perennial with a distinctive woodsy scent. The plant grows up to 1 metre tall & as well as the plant, the flowers & the seeds have the disctinct scent of lavender but the huile derived from the flowers is the most important medicinal part.
Active Ingredients: Lavender oil contains the natural alcohols of linalool, ketones, esters & aldehydes. Linalol is thought to give the anti-septic properties of Lavender which can help to heal skin irritations such as burns, wounds & acne. The aldehydes in Lavender are responsible for the disctinct aroma of Lavender as well as its calming properties. The ketones are thought to reduce pain, inflammation & to help bring on sleepiness. The esters are thought to reduce irritation & swelling, to prevent muscle contractions, to fight against fungal infections, to prevent scars, to reduce tension & to regulate mood.
Mixes well with: The oils of Clove, Cedarwood, Clary Sage, Patchouli & most citrus & floral oils.
