The Mimosa Gardens story started in the summer of 2006. Like many people we were looking for more natural alternatives to the products available in the supermarkets & found it difficult. Although there are numerous 'Natural' products available, finding one that not only worked but that was also in the budget seemed impossible, so we decided to create the products we wanted for ourselves. Initially we started off by making Glycerin based soap bars; this soon opened up a world of possibilities as a friend of the family asked us if we would be willing to try selling my bars of soap in her Consignment store as they also had a local craft corner. Although we were not sure if we were ready to take the step to start selling items commercially we figured that it wouldn't be a bad idea to put up a small display of soaps, figuring that the worst thing that could happen is they wouldn't sell.
Quite quickly the store started receiving questions about when other products such as Shampoo, Conditioner, Liquid Soap etc... would be available. As we had thought of this as simply an experiment to see if our items would even sell at all, we were surprised people were already asking for more. In fact we hadn't even planned that far ahead yet but as the requests kept coming in we were soon experimenting with different ways of making those very products, trying to find the one that used the most natural ingredients but also provided the customer with a product they were going to love.
When I think back the first days, especially about those first batches of Body Wash, Shampoo etc... it is still hard to imagine that things have moved so fast. We truly hope you enjoy using each and every one of our products as much as we enjoy crafting them for you!
